Software Application

Objective:

To draft patent application for a software that facilitates structured meetings

Execution:

We were provided with the website that contains all the details of the software. We took snapshots of the required pages and created a rough set of drawings required to create the claims. We took approval on the claims and move forward to the complete the specification. After 2 months’ office action was received which has the rejection of USC 101 Alice Copper case i.e. Abstract idea and USC 103. We had two calls with the examiner Sunit Pandya, and after 3 years of filing, we got the patent approved.

Conclusion:

We had to modify claims to include some implied instructions such as an input device and computing device to overcome the rejection of Abstract idea. USC 103 was easy to overcome as we had some significant differences. So, we fought hard and got the patent approved.
