A hybrid Bioartificial liver bioreactor acting as a perfusion system for the large-scale culturing of hepatocytes cells. The artificial liver system is provided with a plasma separation unit, detoxifier unit, and bioreactor system integrated in it. The invention provides an integrated hybrid bio-artificial liver support system with a higher surface area available for entrapping liver cells, ensuring a greater extent of purification. A nasal cannula for suctioning excess oxygen away from the patient’s face or flushing air at a high enough flow rate to substantially reduce or even eliminate the buildup of excess oxygen around the patient’s face. Cannula uses multiple flush/suction ports arrangement around the different locations on the cannula to support an air flush.
A coiled tip guidewire with the optimal transmission of force to push the distal end of the catheter through tight stenoses and/or tortuous blood vessels. The wire is preferably formed of shape memory alloy, e.g., Nitinol brand alloy. The tip of the guidewire uses a radiopaque guidewire head having radiopacity and a soft radiopaque marker to prevent damage to the patient’s vasculature.
